Your Drive, shared with the right leaders
Connect your unit's own Google Drive, pick the files and folders to share, and choose which roles may see each one. Wardzen does the sharing in Drive for you, and your documents stay in your Drive.
Your Google Drive
Files and folders stay right where they are.
Wardzen
You pick what is shared and which roles may see it.
Your leaders
Each one opens it in Drive or downloads it.
Sharing a folder shouldn't be a chore
If any of this sounds familiar, Documents is for you.
Every time the bishopric changes, I share the same folders again, one email address at a time.
Someone attached the handbook to an email months ago. Now nobody knows which copy is current.
The last clerk still has the folder in their Google account, and I'm not sure anyone remembered to remove them.
Documents ties your unit's own Drive to the roles you already manage in Wardzen.
Four steps, no sharing by hand
Set it up once. Drive stays the home of every file.
- 1
Connect your Drive
In Settings › Documents, a member of the bishopric or stake presidency, a clerk, or whoever set up your unit in Wardzen connects the unit's Google account.
- 2
Pick what to share
Choose Add, then pick a file or folder in the Google Picker. Only what you pick is shared, never the rest of your Drive.
- 3
Decide who sees it
Click Edit access and tick the roles that may see it, such as Ward Clerk or Relief Society Presidency.
- 4
Leaders open it
Everyone who holds a ticked role is added as a viewer in Drive automatically. They open it there, or download it from Wardzen.
Leaders set it up. The right roles see it.

Whoever set up your unit in Wardzen can do everything in the first two cards.
Each unit keeps its own Drive
Documents belong to the unit that shared them, whether or not the ward is linked to a stake.
A ward on its own
The ward connects its Google Drive and shares with ward roles, from the bishop to the presidencies. That's all it takes.
A ward linked to its stake
Linking to a stake doesn't change documents. The ward's list stays the ward's and the stake's stays the stake's.
At the stake
The stake presidency and stake clerk connect the stake's own Drive and share with stake roles, such as the High Council or the Stake Relief Society Presidency.
Simple, and under your control
What Documents does, and what it leaves alone.
Files stay in your Drive
Wardzen keeps each item's name, its link and the roles that may see it. It doesn't keep a copy of your files.
Only what you pick
Wardzen asks Google for access to the files and folders you choose in the Google Picker. It has no access to the rest of your Drive.
Sharing done for you
Everyone who holds a ticked role is added as a viewer in Drive, so there's no sharing by hand. Leaders get view access only.
Download without a Google account
The Download button passes a file through Wardzen, so a leader needs no Google account. Google Docs download as PDF or Word, Sheets as Excel or PDF, and Slides as PowerPoint or PDF. Folders open in Drive.
Access keeps up with roles
Change someone's roles or remove them from the unit in Wardzen, and their access in Drive is added or taken away to match.
Take it back any time
Remove an item and Wardzen takes back the sharing it set up. The file itself stays in your Drive.
Questions about Documents
Do our files get copied into Wardzen?
No. Your files stay in your unit's Google Drive. Wardzen keeps each item's name, its link and which roles may see it. When someone downloads a file, Wardzen passes it along from Drive and doesn't keep it.
Does every leader need a Google account?
To open an item in Drive, a leader needs a Google account that uses the same email as their Wardzen account. Without one, they can still use Download for any single file. Folders open in Drive only.
Can Wardzen see the rest of our Drive?
No. Wardzen asks Google for access only to the files and folders you pick, and it stores the connection to your Drive encrypted. You can disconnect it any time in Settings › Documents.
Who decides who sees a document?
The bishopric, the ward clerk, the stake presidency, the stake clerk and whoever set up your unit in Wardzen. For each item they tick the roles that may see it. Other leaders see only what is shared with a role they hold.
Can a stake see its wards' documents?
No. Documents belong to the unit that shared them. A stake and each of its wards connect their own Drive and keep their own list, even when they're linked.
